Most gameplay relies on steering, braking, and accelerating through sharp turns and uneven terrain. Cars slide on dirt, grip tightly on asphalt, and lose control easily on ice, requiring clean timing to keep the vehicle steady. Some routes include tight hairpins that need handbrake turns, while others contain long straight sections built for high speed. Rocks, barriers, and sudden drops appear along the edges, punishing mistakes with time losses. Weather effects such as rain or fog reduce visibility, forcing careful driving. Repair segments between stages allow damaged parts to be fixed with limited time.

As the championship continues, new countries unlock with different environments and stage layouts. Later rallies include longer routes, tougher surfaces, and faster opponents whose times must be beaten to stay competitive. Cars can be upgraded with better suspension, brakes, and engines that improve handling across each terrain type. Special stages appear with unique challenges, such as night driving or narrow mountain paths. The final rally decides the championship when all accumulated times are compared, ending the season once the last stage is completed and the standings are final.
