Tinboy

A quiet workshop evening changes when a small metal boy awakens on a dusty table and hears machines rumbling deep inside the factory. The story begins as Tinboy takes his first steps and learns that many robots in the building have gone out of control. Short scenes show gears turning, sparks flying, and simple messages from friendly devices that guide him toward the exit. Each chapter gives a clear goal, such as finding a battery, reaching a switch, or escaping a room filled with malfunctioning machines.

Gameplay uses simple platforming. Tinboy walks, jumps, and pushes boxes to reach higher ledges or open new paths. Some rooms include conveyor belts that move slowly under his feet, doors that open with pressure plates, or moving platforms that travel in predictable patterns. A few enemy robots patrol small areas, and touching them sends Tinboy back to the last checkpoint. Electricity fields, falling doors, and swinging arms appear later, but their movements stay slow enough for beginners to understand. Reaching the end of each room unlocks the next part of the factory.

New sections appear as Tinboy moves deeper, including storage halls, boiler rooms, control towers, and dark maintenance tunnels. Some puzzles ask for stacking boxes in a certain way, timing jumps to avoid sparks, or using switches in the correct order. Short scenes between levels show Tinboy learning more about the factory and why the machines broke down. Small upgrades appear later, giving him slightly better jumps or letting him move objects more easily.
