Shin Atelier Rorona – Hajimari no Monogatari The Alchemist of Arland

A young girl named Rorona is forced to save her alchemy workshop, and the story begins when the kingdom says the shop will close unless she proves its worth. The player follows Rorona as she takes simple requests from the castle, gathers materials, and makes items through alchemy. Townspeople give small tasks, and new areas open as Rorona works. The goal is clear. Complete assignments, keep the workshop active, and help the people around her while learning better alchemy skills.

The gameplay mixes gathering, crafting, and light battles. The player walks through fields, forests, and caves to collect plants, ores, and monster drops. Battles use simple turn based actions where Rorona and her friends choose attacks or skills. Monsters have clear patterns, and each fight is easy to understand. Back in the workshop, the player uses materials to create items like healing medicine, bombs, or tools needed for quests. Each recipe lists the items required, and the player selects ingredients that change the quality of the final product. Town visits allow buying, selling, and talking with characters who give new tasks.

As time moves forward, each castle request comes with a deadline, and the player must plan which items to make and which materials to gather. New areas become harder, with stronger monsters and longer paths. Some quests need rare items found only in hidden corners or dropped by certain enemies. Boss like monsters appear deeper in the fields and require better equipment or crafted items. Completing assignments improves the workshop’s standing and unlocks more recipes, characters, and events. Each finished task brings Rorona closer to proving that her workshop deserves to stay open.
