The first mission begins when a criminal gang attacks the city streets, and the heroes must move immediately to stop them before they reach civilians. Each area opens with clearly placed enemies, obstacles, and interactive objects that can be used in combat. Short messages from teammates indicate which enemies to focus on or which path to clear. Every stage starts directly with a simple objective such as defeating all foes, protecting a location, or reaching a specific checkpoint.

Combat relies on punches, kicks, and throws, with combos chaining moves together to take down multiple enemies quickly. Weapons like bats, trash cans, and benches can be picked up and used against foes. Certain zones include hazards such as narrow platforms, moving obstacles, or slippery floors that require careful movement. Special attacks fill a meter and unleash stronger strikes or area damage. Each hit registers instantly, showing enemy health and clearing the path for the next objective.

Later missions introduce tougher gangs with shields, faster attacks, and unique abilities that demand precise timing and strategy. Unlockable characters provide special moves and advantages against specific enemy types. Levels expand to multi-block streets, alleyways, and rooftops, with mini-boss fights and multi-stage encounters that challenge combo timing and positioning. Short dialogue updates indicate which gang or area is next, guiding progress through each mission. The campaign ends once the main crime bosses are defeated, concluding after the final showdown restores safety to the city.
