Difficulty rises as you push deeper into Sinnoh. Later routes include tougher wild Pokémon with stronger attacks or unexpected move sets. Caves may hide rare encounters or optional battles that reward good planning. Gyms use better strategies, so type matchups and timing matter more than before. Some side paths include hidden items, stronger trainers, or rare Pokémon that give your team helpful boosts. Major battles become sharper near the end of the game, encouraging smart switching, good move choices, and steady training as you move toward the final challenges.
