Dusty returns to action when a wildfire spreads through Piston Peak, and the first assignment begins with a direct goal to reach the burning zone and drop water on marked hotspots before they grow. Rangers report blocked paths, rising flames, and trapped areas that need immediate attention. Each mission opens with a simple objective such as dousing fires, carrying supplies, or clearing smoke-filled zones so rescue crews can move forward. Instructions arrive through short radio messages that point Dusty toward the next danger zone.

Firefighting tasks rely on steady flying, accurate water drops, and quick turns around burning terrain. Dusty scoops water from lakes or refill stations, then circles back to release it over fire markers spread across cliffs, forests, and canyons. Some missions require flying low to save stranded vehicles, while others demand weaving through tight spaces filled with falling debris. Wind currents, rising heat, and shifting smoke influence flight paths, pushing Dusty to adjust altitude and direction. Later challenges include escorting ground units, clearing firebreaks, or protecting rangers from incoming flames.

New regions unlock as early tasks are completed, introducing tougher fires that spread faster and cover larger areas. Additional aircraft join the team, each with their own strengths for speed, water capacity, or turning control. Missions grow more demanding with multi-part objectives, such as extinguishing fires while also scouting damaged zones. Short dialogue scenes explain where the blaze is moving and which sector must be handled next. The campaign ends with the largest wildfire in Piston Peak, closing once Dusty and the team stop the final spread and secure the entire park.
