ROM Information
The kingdom falls under attack when a dark force invades the northern territories, and the first mission begins with a direct goal to move a unit squad to defend a village while defeating enemy troops. Each map immediately displays the battlefield, showing terrain types, enemy positions, and strategic points that must be controlled. Short commands from allies indicate which targets to prioritize or which units need protection. Every stage starts directly with a simple objective such as clearing enemy forces, holding a location, or reaching a marked point on the map.
Turn-based combat drives the gameplay, sending units across grid-based fields where movement, attack range, and positioning matter. Infantry, archers, and cavalry have unique movement patterns and strengths that determine the order of engagement. Spells and special attacks consume resources, dealing area damage or applying buffs and debuffs. Some maps include environmental hazards such as rivers, cliffs, or bridges that limit movement or provide tactical advantages. Each attack shows instant results, making it clear when enemies are defeated or when terrain affects combat outcomes.
As the campaign progresses, stronger enemy units appear with armored classes, ranged magic users, and bosses that require careful unit placement and skill timing. Additional hero characters join the player’s army, each offering unique skills or leadership bonuses. Maps grow larger with multiple objectives, such as protecting multiple villages or completing simultaneous attacks. Dialogue scenes explain story developments and indicate the next battlefield location. The campaign ends after defeating the dark force in the final battle, closing once the kingdom is secured and peace is restored.
